Can you sell used pallets for cash? Yes, if you have enough of the right kind. For standard 48×40 pallets we typically pay $1 to $5 each, depending on grade, condition and how many you have. We buy from businesses across the Twin Cities, starting at about 100 pallets.
Here's what sells, what doesn't, and how a pickup works.
What we pay for
48×40 GMA pallets: we pay
The standard pallet most companies run, also called cores, 4-ways, or grade A and B. It's easy to repair and always in demand, so it's the one we pay the most for. Sorted, neatly stacked loads earn the top of the range.
Odd sizes: sometimes we pay
Repairable sizes we can resell, such as 48×48, 48×42 and 42×42. Whether we pay depends on how many you have and their grade.
Very odd sizes and broken pallets: free or a small fee
One-off sizes like 72×50 or 40×51, block pallets and broken loads still have lumber we can use. At truckload volume we may pay a little; below that we haul them away free or for a small fee, and you hear any fee before a truck is sent.
Wood waste: a fee
Plywood, particle board, crates and loose lumber are past repair. We still take them, for a fee quoted up front.
How many pallets you need
We pick up from about 100 pallets. Under 200 pays less per pallet than a full load, which is around 400.
How to get the best price
- Keep 48×40s apart from odd sizes and broken pallets.
- Stack them flat and square, out of the weather if you can.
- If you have the room, wait until you have a full load.
How a pickup works
- Tell us the count, the sizes and your address with our pickup offer form.
- Our team follows up by call or email with an offer.
- Pickup runs 1 to 7 days, depending on your location and our schedule. If pallets pile up every week, we can leave a trailer at your dock and swap it on a schedule.
Why a pallet company won't pay for every pallet
A used pallet is only worth what it costs to sort, repair and resell it. A standard 48×40 sells again quickly; a one-off size can sit in the yard for months. Why isn't my pallet worth anything? explains it from our side.
