We've been in the pallet business in Minneapolis since 1986. These are the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, contact us — a real person will get back to you same day.

How much do pallets cost in Minnesota?

Pricing depends on type, grade, size, quantity, and delivery needs. For larger orders, recycled pallet bulk pricing can start at $5 and new pallet bulk pricing can start at $12. The best way to get an accurate number is to request a free quote — we'll come back to you fast with a straight price, no runaround.

Do you sell pallets in small quantities?

Yes — no minimums on standard sizes. You can order as few as one pallet through our online store. Per-pallet pricing improves significantly with volume. If you're setting up a recurring order or buying a truckload, get a custom quote for the best rate. Whether it's 10 pallets or 10,000, we can handle it.

Why buy local instead of ordering from Uline or Amazon?

Local means 24–48 hour delivery vs. days or weeks from national distributors. It means the ability to inspect product before committing. It means negotiated volume pricing — not fixed catalog rates. And it means a real relationship with a supplier who has been in the Twin Cities market for over 40 years. For businesses in Minnesota, buying local is almost always faster, cheaper, and more flexible.

What is the difference between new and recycled pallets?

New wood pallets are manufactured from fresh-cut lumber — consistent dimensions, up to 3,500 lb. static load capacity, and available with ISPM 15 heat treatment for international shipping. Recycled wood pallets are inspected and repaired used pallets, with bulk pricing that can start at $5 — up to 2,500 lb. capacity, ideal for internal warehouse use and non-food applications. Not sure which fits your operation? Ask our team and we'll point you in the right direction.

What pallet sizes do you carry?

Our online store stocks the four most common sizes: 48×40" GMA (the most widely used pallet in North America), 48×42", 96×48", and 36×36". These cover the vast majority of standard manufacturing, distribution, and retail applications. Need something different? We build custom pallets to spec — use our quote form to describe what you need.

What is a heat-treated (ISPM 15) pallet?

ISPM 15 is an international standard requiring wood packaging materials to be heat treated before crossing most international borders. The process heats the wood core to 56°C for at least 30 continuous minutes, eliminating any insects or pathogens. Heat-treated pallets carry the internationally recognized HT mark. If your business ships products internationally, ISPM 15 compliance is required by customs. Gruber offers heat-treated options on all standard new pallet sizes.

How much weight can a wood pallet hold?

Gruber's new wood pallets are rated for up to 3,500 lbs. static load. Recycled wood pallets carry up to 2,500 lbs. static. Dynamic loads (moving via forklift) and racking loads (stored on shelving) are typically 50–75% of the static rating. If you have specific load requirements, tell us when you request a quote and we'll spec the right pallet for the job.

Can I get custom-sized pallets?

Absolutely. Custom sizing is one of Gruber's core capabilities — any footprint, board count, deck gap, or stringer configuration. We also offer treatments: stenciling, banding, and spray painting. Custom orders are quoted individually. Fill out our custom quote form with your dimensions, quantity, and requirements and we'll come back with pricing. We've built custom pallets for small shops and Fortune 500 companies alike.
